Dr. Jarallah S. AlGhamdi is the CIO of the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia. He received his BS degree in computer science and engineering in 1982 from University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, the MS degree in 1986 and PhD degree in 1994 in computer science from Arizona State University. He chaired the Information and Computer Science Department of King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) from 1996 to 2000. He was the Dean of the College of Computer Sciences and Engineering at KFUPM from February 2000 to January 2007. He published research and conducted consultancy work in Software Metrics, Software Architecture, eLearning, eGovernment, and IT strategic planning.
